Thinking of a Pet to Share Your Home With?

Pet Page pic.jpgI am a volunteer with the SPCA of Texas. They have wonderful pets for adoption, so if you are considering adding an addition to your family, I hope you will consider giving one of their great animals a chance at a new life.

They have locations in Dallas, McKinney and The Colony. If you would like to volunteer with the SPCA or adopt an animal, please call 1-888-ANIMALS or see their web site at www.spca.org.

  • Dot

    Dot

Hi there! This lovely lady is Dot, and she's a girl who is easy to remember, because of all her black spots. She's only one year old, and she was brought to the SPCA of Texas from another shelter on January 17. When you meet Dot, you’ll quickly see that she is one of the sweetest girls you could ever want to know. She loves to cuddle and be petted, and in return she'll give you all her wags and kisses. Because of her gentle soul and disposition, she would be great with kids, but she would also be happy with one, loyal friend. So, why don’t you come down and meet this sweet girl with the white coat and the black spots and see if Dot is the perfect match for you. She wants her new forever home more than anything, and she sure hopes it's with you! #15057599

  • Blanche

    Blanche

Hey there, this sweetheart is Blanche, a 7-year-old, Terrier mix with a heart of gold. She came to the SPCA of Texas on November 3 after our Humane Investigators rescued her and several of her friends from inhumane conditions. She's hoping to find a new, wonderful home very soon, and she would thrive in a family with other pets who can show her the ropes. Blanche can be a little on the shy reserved side, but if you speak sofly to her and give her gentle pets, she'll warm up quickly to her new friends. Because of the tough times she's had in the past, she can be a little uneasy around new people, but she is learning to trust people again one belly rub at a time. Blanche is heartworm positive, but her treatments are FREE to her new family at a Metroplex-area VCA Animal Hospital after she's adopted. This will provide the best total care for heartworm positive dogs like Blanche in treatment, as they'll have access to emergency care and overnight stays if necessary. #14436958

  • Ellie

    Ellie

This gorgeous girl is Ellie, a stunning 18-month-old, Labrador Retriever, Doberman and Greyhound mix who is the perfect family pet. This love bug was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on January 25 because her previous owners had allergies. She is the complete package of personality, beauty and brains. She loves other dogs and kids, but she would prefer a home without cats. She is an athletic girl who loves to run, play in the sprinklers, fetch and go on morning and evening strolls. She also enjoys playtime, especially when toys and treats are involved. Ellie is already housebroken, and she knows "sit," "stay," "shake," and "don't touch." She is also crate trained, so it is important that her future owners continue with her crate training when they are away and unable to supervise Ellie. She does love chew toys, so be sure she has all her favorite games when she is in her crate so it continues to be a positive, happy place for her. Bring your whole family to the SPCA of Texas to meet Ellie today! She is a loyal, loving girl who would make an excellent hunting dog! #15105684

  • Elvis

    Elvis

If you like to shake, rattle and roll you're going to love Elvis! He likes to play, dance, run and generally have a good time. Elvis is a friendly, care free black Labrador retriever mix who is only one year old and 67 pounds of love. His previous owner surrendered him to the SPCA of Texas on January 26th because they didn't have a nice, big yard for Elvis to play in. Considering his love of exercise and the great outdoors he does need lots of space to play and romp! If you are looking for a new workout partner who will also serve as your best friend, come see Elvis right away! #15113157

  • Flash

    Flash

Wanna know why her name is Flash? It's because if you sit down anywhere near her, and she'll be on your lap to snuggle in a Flash! Let's just say, she's not your stereotypical cat. Flash LOVEs being around people, and she's happy to engage in conversation…as long as there is some cuddling involved. She's also a sucker for toys, especially pawing at stuffed animals at the end of a string. Good times. So we think this means that she'd love a home that includes her as part of the family, and thinks that cats chasing stuff is really funny. Flash is a black and white Domestic Shorthair mix who is seven years young. She's been patiently waiting for her new family at the SPCA of Texas since January 16. Come see her today! #14533272
